The Juror
Frank Dituri, of New York and Italy, is known for the poetic and mysterious visual language of his photographic works. As an artist, he transforms the every day, the recognizable and the obvious into images that border on the surreal. A teacher for more than thirty two years, he is currently at the C.W. Post, Long Island University and the LTA/Guggenheim Museum Program. He has exhibited in the United States, Asia and Europe, especially Italy where he has shown extensively, most notably in a solo show at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. His work has been reviewed by international publications including the New York Times, Art News, Nippon Camera, Art Today, Corriere della Sera, La Republica, Zoom Magazine and Leica Magazine. Represented in the United States by Rosenberg and Kaufman Fine Art, New York, his work is in public and private collections around the world. Mr. Diturišs most recent publication is Aga pi frescia (Federico Motta Editore, November 2001), a book of his photographs with poetry by Pier Paolo Pasolii.
