AAWS announces partnership with the Winston-Salem Open Tennis Tournament, 7/19/2012

We are very excited to announce a partnership with this year's Winston-Salem Open. As we have done in the past for the Davis Cup, our artists will paint large, wooden tennis rackets to showcase their talents! This was very popular during the Davis Cup, and many of the finished works sold, as they were quite a unique souvenir for a very special occasion.

This willl serve as a fundraiser for both AAWS and our artists, as well. All painted rackets will be for sale to the public at the Open for $200, with AAWS splitting the proceeds of the sale 50/50. This will be a great way for AAWS and our individual artists to gain exposure to a whole new and national/international audience. The rackets will be initially displayed around all three floors of Wake Forest's Deacon Tower during sponsor parties and related events, eventually being moved to the tournament grounds closer to the time of the finals. There will be around 20 rackets in all, so the display should be quite impressive to tournament goers. People from all around the Triad and well beyond will be attending the Winston Open, so this is a chance for our talent to be seen by an even wider audience than normal in our gallery exhibitions, as thousands will be in attendance.
