Reading has always been my favorite pastime.
So it's natural that the aspect of storytelling
would be part of my art: Each painting is a series
of images that tells a story.
The images appear as a multi-layered montage
of brightly lighted, realistically rendered,
thematically related scenes and images.
I am particularly interested in dimension and texture.
Many works suspend from the ceiling, wrap around a corner,
have unexpected materials such as extra canvas,
Plexiglass, twine, or sawdust sewn or adhered to the canvas.
I prefer to paint large-scale
and to contrast stark white areas with bright colors.
