There is so much excitement in a city: movement, colors, shapes, vitality. I am inspired to try to express the feeling of being in the midst of a city scene. Some of my watercolor abstracts reflect movement and time. The collages attempt to create city angles and intersections, height and values. Blocks and chunks of buildings mix with lights and colors of streets to create an almost dizzy feeling. At night, when the lights come alive, the streets begin to resonate with music and laughter. The patterns and flow of color around the artwork mimic the momentary glimpses of city life.
