Types of Exhibitions

AAWS hosts five different types of exhibits in the gallery:

  • Associate Member Shows are open ONLY to Associate Members of Associated Artists.

  • Juried Member Shows are open ONLY to Juried Members of Associated Artists. Juried Members may exhibit only work in the medium in which they applied and were accepted.

  • All Member Shows are open to all AAWS members. No work is guaranteed to be exhibited. Juried Members are not limited by their juried medium.

  • National/Regional Juried Shows are open to all artists. These shows are highly competitive, selected and judged by a juror with a national reputation in the art world. Artists must enter by submitting slides or digital images. AAWS members receive a discount on entry fees.

  • Fundraisers are short-term exhibitions with the purpose of raising money for the organization.

Prospectuses

Prospectuses are sent to members approximately one month prior to the upcoming deadline, via email for those who have indicated this preference, and U.S. mail for all others. The Exhibition Calendar is updated regularly on the AAWS website.

The prospectus for each show is is also put online as soon as it is available, and a link to a prospectus is added below the name of its show in the Exhibition Calendar.

If information in the prospectus differs from general information on this website, the prospectus takes precedence.
