Exhibition guidelines
Types of Exhibitions
AAWS hosts five different types of exhibits in the gallery:

Associate Member Shows
are open ONLY to
Associate Members
of Associated Artists.

Juried Member Shows
are open ONLY to
Juried Members
of Associated Artists.
Juried Members may exhibit only work in the medium
in which they applied and were accepted.

All Member Shows
are open to all AAWS members.
No work is guaranteed to be exhibited.
Juried Members are not limited by their juried medium.

National/Regional Juried Shows
are open to all artists.
These shows are highly competitive,
selected and judged by a juror with a national reputation in the art world.
Artists must enter by submitting slides or digital images.
AAWS members receive a discount on entry fees.

Fundraisers
are short-term exhibitions
with the purpose of raising money for the organization.
Prospectuses
Prospectuses are sent to members approximately one month prior to the upcoming deadline, via email for those who have indicated this preference, and U.S. mail for all others.

is updated regularly on the AAWS website.
The prospectus for each show is
is also put online as soon as it is available,
and a link to a prospectus is added below the name of its show
in the
Exhibition Calendar.
If information in the prospectus differs
from general information on this website,
the prospectus takes precedence.
General Exhibition Guidelines
General guidelines for exhibiting work are listed below.

Artists should deliver their work on dates and times specified in the prospectus: usually the Saturday and Monday before the opening, between 10 AM and 1 PM.

Late entries will not be accepted.

Artists should bring artwork, the provided Inventory Card listing their work, and the appropriate entry fee.

No piece may exceed

in overall perimeter or

square feet in area.
No piece may exceed
150
pounds in weight.

Two-dimensional works should be ready to exhibit with wire for hanging.
The hanging system in the gallery will not support works
without wire on the back.

Canvases should have finished edges and no visible staples.

Three-dimensional works should sit on a flat surface or have wire for hanging.
-
AAWS retains a 30% commission on all work sold.
