Community Exhibits
Artist members of AAWS
are invited to exhibit work at our participating
Community Exhibits locations.
We currently exhibit in
more than 20
sites
throughout town.
Our locations include banks, restaurants, medical offices,
retirement communities, and public service and corporate offices.
Each location is changed out in either two or three month intervals.
How It Works
Once you are added to the calendar, a few weeks before your hang date,
we will send out a packet in which you will find a location-specific contract,
an inventory list, and several cards to be completed and displayed
with your work.
You complete the paperwork and make two more copies of the contract
and inventory list.
For insurance purposes, AAWS and the display site are each required
to keep copies of the inventory list and the contract on file.
So you leave copies at the display site when you go to hang your work
and you mail another copy of each to the AAWS office as soon as your
work has been hung.
The third copy is for you to keep for your personal records.
Please note:
You, the artist, are
wholly
responsible for
transporting
your work
to and from the site
and for
hanging
your work.
Be sure to bring a friend with you if you're not sure
you can handle it by yourself.
All work must be original, framed and ready to hang.
Unframed canvas works with finished edges are also acceptable.
"Sawtooth" hangers are not acceptable. Use wire.
Please do not display work that is smaller than 8"x10".
When a work is sold, you will be immediately notified and asked to replace it.
Art work is sold at a commission of 30%.
Taxes are reported through AAWS,
and checks are mailed to the artists
within 30 days of payment receipt.
We ask that you do not initiate any publicity related to your art
without first consulting AAWS.
If you have questions, or would like to be added to the list of Community Exhibits participants, please call
Sunny Hudkins in the office.
